21st Century Organization Helping Communities Excel
The joy of discovery!
To inspire the designers, innovators and creators of tomorrow by providing them with an engaging environment, innovative technology and the motivation that enables them to elevate their 21st century skills to become self-driven, self-directed and a life-long learner.
Why we do what we do
We do it because we must. We do it because we care. We do it because schools can't do it alone. We do it because it's the right thing to do. We do it because the future of our communities hang in the balance.
In a technology based economy, businesses need fewer employees and those fortunate enough to be hired possess 21st century skills. Even entrepreneurs operating in micro economies will need 21st century skills to navigate the new horizon.
Communication, Collaboration, Creativity and Critical Thinking skills are required in the 21st century.
What We Believe..
ILC's Underlining Principles
1. "If a child can't learn the way we teach, we should teach the way they learn."
2. We must reach students where they are.
3. People believe more in knowledge discovered themselves than in knowledge presented by others.
4. Learning is more effective when it is an active rather than a passive process.
5. Changes in perception of oneself and one’s social environment are necessary before changes in actions, thoughts, attitudes and behavior take place.
6. The more supportive, accepting and caring the social environment, the freer we are to experiment with new behaviors, attitudes, actions and thoughts.
